Welcome
Located on the shore of Lac Hughes, in the municipality of Otter Lake, QC - Scout Camp Otter Lake QC is one of the many active Scouts Canada camp properties in the Voyageur Council region (Eastern Ontario/Western Quebec). The camp is open year-round and offers a camp experience in a nature setting... a real outdoors scouting feeling whether you stay in the Richardson Lodge, tent it, stay in the Tipi or decide to construct your own shelter. The camp can host multiple groups at the same time and has sites and facilities suitable to your needs. Check out the map of the camp below. Bookings/Registrations are done using the Scouts Canada Reservation System. Here is a link to make your reservation: https://scouts.doubleknot.com/facilitysearch/4532
Whether you do your programming or use the camp's resources there are numerous program opportunities at the camp - see the Programs Opportunities page for some of the options. The Target Range has three (3) sections to it: a dedicated Shooting Range, a dedicated Throwing Range, and a Gallery area behind both ranges. The camp has a variety of range equipment to satisfy the youths' needs - choose from Archery with Recurve Bows, Pellet Rifles, Slingshots, or SOG Throwing Axes. A special thanks to Cabela's Canada for their support in equipping the Target Range with Archery and Throwing-related equipment and supplies. In addition to the Target Range the camp has an outstanding Obstacle Course available, and that is being expanded. To enjoy the lake there is a small sandy beach, a large Dock that is great to fish from (license required of course), and there are eleven (11) flat-water Canoes available, a Kayak, and a couple of pedal boats. For the Winter we have a large assortment of snowshoes available.
Please note the Camp does not have any potable water available onsite, but it is available at the Otter Lake Municipal Building 7 x 24. See the Maps section for directions to the potable water. Also, we are in the process of bringing electricity into the facilities, but due to the backlogs, it will not be connected for a few months at the minimum. In the meantime should you require electricity, we do have a generator available for rent.
Cellular Coverage - The camp property has excellent cellular reception, including 5G, except for in a few low areas.
And if you need a tent or any camping gear please check with us as we have a good assortment of everything from the basics such as camp stoves, lanterns, pots, etc., to Kitchenettes and Tents.
Scout Camp Otter Lake QC is managed and maintained by the volunteers of the Camp Committee. If you would be interested in helping with the camp whether in an administrative or hands-on way, please contact either the Camp Chair or Camp Warden - see Contacts tab for details.
Come visit us year-round!
